Rejecting God

Introduction

The purpose of this note is to raise awareness of the deep-seated origins of the civil unrest being played out today in the West.  It’s just not as pat or as superficial as people in today’s media would have us believe.  There’s much more going on here than simple protest.

Premise

My premise here is that the radical Left, whatever victim, group, or cause they profess, is focused on eradicating God.  For most, their political North Star is Cultural Marxism (a subject about which I have written elsewhere).  The general idea is that anything the West has created or held in esteem is noxious to humankind, as it represents oppression by the privileged class (Caucasian male, heterosexual, cisgender, able-bodied, native-born American, religiously faithful, family man) over their assumed victim classes (or more appropriately, identity groups — i.e. everybody else).  This is of course why their default position is that anything these privileged have done in history, or want to do, is anathema, and therefore why the privileged class’s symbols, current livelihoods, and institutions have to be destroyed or, as they say in the current vernacular, “canceled”.

So why are they “wrong”?  They are wrong because their tenets are diametrically opposed to what the Creator of the Universe has taught us is the right way to live and treat each other.

Evidence

What’s my evidence for this premise?  In the following table, I’ve tried to capture the essence of it from recent events and articles to depict how the goals and tactics of the movement are each anti-God.  This article also provides an excellent summary of the mindset of the virulent Marxist.

What’s Going On Here?

Marxist ActionGod’s Prescription
Chants of “F— your Jesus” in recent “demonstrations”  “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” (Mt. 22:37)
Intent to destroy the structure of the family.“Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” (Gen 2:24) “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Pro 22:6)
Chants of “F— the police“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.” (Mt. 5:9)
Baiting racial hatred;  “White privilege”; and radical feminism.“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Gal 3:28) “And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’” (Mt 22:39)
Promote deviancy.“…God gave them over to degrading passions” (Romans 1:26-27)
Kill those in our wayKill cops.“You shall not murder” (Ex 20:13)
Looting“You shall not steal” (Ex 20:15)  “You shall not covet…” (Ex 20:17)
Condone child sex trafficking; promote pedophilia; promote abortion.“but whoever causes one of these little ones…to stumble” (Mt. 18:6-7). “See that you do not despise one of these little ones.” (Mt. 18:10)
Celebrate the destruction of property“You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD.” (Lev 19:18)

The anarchists in the world’s streets today aren’t there to tear down Western Civilization, although they may think that’s what they’re doing.  They’re there to eradicate God. But many, perhaps most, might not see their purpose in such grandiose terms.  They may just think they’re there to protest wrongs in their society: racism being the headline cause. People with apparently legitimate social causes are the tools of Marxists.

For everyday, rank-and-file anarchists, their worldview, constructed over the years by their teachers, the media they consume, and possibly even their parents, is focused on righting these perceived wrongs.  They have been taught and now believe that their ideas of right, wrong, and justice are to be acknowledged and honored by everybody else, and if you don’t, then you are to be despised, if not made to pay a significant price.  Their self-aggrandizing indoctrination has been breathtakingly successful not only in elevating their selves as virtuous but in instilling an utter intolerance for any idea that is seen as contrary to theirs.

These indoctrinated, everyday kids, are now the perfect foot soldiers for the larger effort (a.k.a “useful idiots”, a term attributed to Lenin).  As we move higher up the chain of command within these anarchist organizations, ultimately to their founders and benefactors, we see different motivations in play.  People leading these organizations have stated quite clearly that their intention for anarchy is indeed the destruction of civilization.  These are the dedicated Marxists, the ones managing and provisioning the street riots, not merely the white suburban teenager or black inner-city youth enraged about their “cause”.

No.  Tearing down Western Civilization isn’t so much the goal as it is the side-effect.  The goal (whether the perpetrators consciously realize it or not) is the destruction of God.  Whether dedicated Marxist or simply an empty Nihilist, the goal is the removal of God – the eradication of absolute goodness from society – so that they can make society in their image.

The idea of absolute goodness must be destroyed so that the Marxist is unencumbered in declaring and implementing his society.  He can’t afford to have pockets of the population remain committed to God and His way of living (as happened, resulting in the failure of the 1917 revolution).  He, the Marxist, wants to be God.  He is simply acting out the millennia-old struggle of man against his God, euphemistically shaking a fist at Him, having anointed himself as his own god.  And, of course, you don’t have to be a dedicated Marxist to enlist in this rebellion:  it is simply the natural state of humanity. This desire has intensified in recent decades through our public schools’ and universities’ preaching of the intrinsic goodness and worthiness of the self, the inherent oppressiveness of the ‘ruling’ group, and the resultant general disintegration of cultural norms.

Takeaways

It is crucially important (no matter which side you find yourself on) to understand that the struggle you see unfolding on your TV or in your street today is not about political parties, left vs right, skin color, or some protestor’s idea of “justice”.  Those are mere affectations and popular arguments wrapped around the timeless underlying struggle of good vs evil. It’s about “what I want“, no matter the degree of my ignorance of even basic things, not what God (whoever He is) wants.

Those on the side of evil don’t seek the good of anybody except possibly themselves.  Yes, some may argue for society to provide more material resources to one group or the other.  But most don’t actually care in any tangible way about those people (e.g. we don’t find many demonstrators working in community food banks, or volunteering to shop for their elderly neighbors, etc.).  They are, on the contrary, enraged at a society and its members the majority of which see things differently than them.  And so they put convenient labels on them to facilitate their hate: “racist”, “homophobe”, “misogynist”, “hater”, “breeder”, “privileged”, etc.

It is also important to realize that those on the side of the “good” don’t necessarily qualify for that designation personally.  The best they can claim is that they see the virtue of and support an orderly, just civilization, and are willing to work for it.  While this is perhaps a small virtue, it is profound in that it constitutes the only remaining cultural adhesive the society has left.

This rise of Marxist ideology in the West among not only students but teachers and the politicians pandering to them represents a grave threat to modern civilization.  It is but the latest implementation of the spirit of antichrist spread across humanity which seeks the very opposite of Christ.  It seeks division where He sought unity. It seeks retribution where He sought forgiveness. It seeks vindictiveness where He sought love of neighbor. You don’t defeat this spiritual force with guns or the National Guard.  Only the prayer, persistence, and courage of those seeking and working for true “good”  — the good of Christ — can stop the otherwise inevitable descent into anarchy.
