Introduction
Another day, month, year, another assault on what used to be America. I used to believe that people elected to represent their constituents back home actually had some sense of responsibility to actually do that. I used to believe that the US education system would actually attempt to educate the nation’s children to obtain some sense of reality and knowledge – you know, history, English, mathematics, biology, physics – the usual academic subjects. (Sure, “Civics” is passe. But I had hopes for “social studies”.)
The New America could care less what their country is or represents. They’re only concerned with themselves. The New America is the product of failed public education, failed parenting, failed social policies, open borders, and not just resistance to achievement but disdain for any, ANY differentiation of one vs another on the basis of an individual’s achievement. This is the state of the union today.
Death Throes
One of the things I find entertaining is that those of my political persuasion actually believe that if they win the 2024 presidential election, they will have “won” the war. Au contraire. The country’s culture has been hollowed out. It won’t tolerate policies founded on virtue or right-vs-wrong. If it’s not what they (have been told to) want, they’ll reject it wholesale the next electoral opportunity they get.
They don’t know what America is. They have no idea why it is (was) special. They couldn’t appreciate the concept of personal liberty if they were subjected to an eight-hour “American Principles” course. It just isn’t within their cultural consciousness to apprehend.
Our government at the slightest hint of upset among the population, issues checks to them. You know, if some people (e.g. restaurant owners) have experienced financial hardship from a pandemic (that the government made worse), then, hell, give EVERYBODY a check. Don’t try to figure out who was actually harmed. Just give everybody money. That way, “maybe they’ll re-elect us”.
These are the death throes of a society intent on its own destruction. The millions of undifferentiated, un-vetted “immigrants” is simply the latest, and most self-hating example of a society that has been attempting to commit suicide for years.
Nobody Cares
Well, not “nobody”. But only a minority cares. And that is the demographic reason why the US will self-destruct. This is an old play. Go back and read the history of Rome. Self-absorption was perhaps the most destructive acid eating away at that society, in association with an addiction to hedonistic pleasures.
The majority doesn’t care. And so, they will (electorally) let this thing go wherever the powers-that-be want it to go. And the powers that be favor their own advantage. So that’s where it will go.
Forget the founders. Forget the principles. Forget the Constitution. The majority wants it to go where their “leaders” want it to go. And that is in the opposite direction of where it came from. In other words, “away”.
