Only God had a delight in your fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even above all peoples or God, thy God is God of all gods, and Governor of governors, a mighty God, and a terrible one. | It is not because of your righteousness that your Elohim is giving to you power to do mightily. Rather, Elohim attached with your fathers to love them, and He chose their seed after them from all of the peoples. Are they not across the Jordan in the direction of the going down of the sun, in the land of the Canaanites, opposite Gilgal, beside the oaks of Moreh? | [29] And when the LORD your God brings you into the land that you are entering to take possession of it, you shall set the blessing on Mount Gerizim and the curse on Mount Ebal. And all the people of the earth will see and will be afraid of you. | Your Elohim will give you your enemies, smiting them before you. Elohim will command the blessing in all that your hands do. [1] There is an interesting challenge in interpreting this paleo-Hebrew term. Ginsburg transliterated the term as 6880. צִרְעָה ṣir`āh — “hornets”. Nichols reads the paleo slightly differently seeing 6883. צַרְעַת ṣar`aṯ — “leprosy”. Both share a common root.
